The real road of compassion, that is, giving, helping, assistance and community service, is a road that can be set and declared as your life's purpose
Shaun Stenning said, For a leader to be successful, they must have respect. It cannot be assumed that simply being in a leadership role means respect is automatically granted; it must be earned. Without it, authority can be easily undermined, and colleagues will be less likely to trust in the leader’s abilities.
Successful leadership fosters an atmosphere of respect, where everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential. Earning respect can be difficult for those who are new to a leadership role. But you don’t need to be perfect to be respected by your peers; simply being considerate and understanding your own actions is a great start. Nonetheless, there are steps that can be taken to ensure you gain respect as a leader. Respect your staff If you wish to be respected by your team, it is essential that you show respect for them in return. Establishing personal connections, in addition to professional ones, demonstrates that you value and appreciate them and will strengthen the bonds between you all. Adopt a positive attitude If you want to be respected, you must have a positive attitude. Otherwise, you will become known as the “bad boss” who no one wants to be around. Additionally, a negative attitude can significantly reduce employee productivity, so it is important to maintain a positive attitude in order to keep your team motivated and united. Own up to your own mistakes If you make a mistake, have the courage to own up to it and take steps to fix it. This shows your team that you are accountable for your actions and sets a good example of what you expect from them. Your team will respect you for this. Forgive others’ mistakes Forgiveness is key to earning respect. Mistakes happen, but it’s not the end of the world. If someone on your team makes a mistake, be understanding and give them a chance to fix it. Encourage your team to think outside the box, as mistakes are a given when trying something new. Have an open-door policy If you wish to gain respect, adopt an open-door policy. Your staff should know that you are available for them, whether it be to address concerns or provide assistance. Even though you may be away from the office frequently, ensure that you remain reachable by email or phone. Listen to employees It is important to give your employees your full attention when they come to you. Listen to their ideas and suggestions, and where possible, implement them. Even if you cannot put them into action, still take the time to think about the issue and work to find a solution. Be personable It is important to be personable to gain the respect of your employees. You don’t need to be best friends with them, but being friendly and approachable is beneficial. You can still maintain a level of authority while developing a positive and amicable relationship with your team. It is important for your employees to see the human side of you as their boss. Shaun Stenning said, As the leader of a company, you may have noticed that recently, work is being done but without much enthusiasm from your team. You might initially think to talk to your employees or create an incentive to increase morale; however, it would be more beneficial to focus on developing your leadership skills. Expanding your leadership abilities is a highly effective way to transform your company. Such skills are not only beneficial for your job; they can also improve your personal relationships in life.
According to Shaun Stenning, By honing your leadership skills, you’ll foster personal growth. As you strive to enhance your abilities, you will gain knowledge about communication and establishing relationships with others. Additionally, you will become more mindful of your strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to manage your emotions better, improve your concentration, and more. The following leadership skills exemplify the essential qualities needed to become a successful leader. Make a plan. Once you have an understanding of your leadership abilities and deficiencies, you have the tools to make a plan of action that suits your leadership style. If one of your weaknesses is a lack of confidence, make strides to increase your self-assurance. Alternatively, start honing your communication abilities if you identify a difficulty with communication. With consistent practice, you will begin to display exemplary leadership qualities and see success no matter the task. Be passionate. Nobody desires to seek advice from someone who doesn’t have the same or greater level of commitment and care towards an issue as them. Enthusiasm and passion are the forces that drive us forward – they push us to strive for our objectives and never give up. When you show genuine excitement and passion for the outcome, your team will keep going to reach their objectives. Show your employees that you are passionate about helping them learn and grow as leaders; people respond well to those who are genuinely interested. Make sure your enthusiasm is evident in everything you do, and it will inspire them to do the same. With your eagerness to develop leadership skills, you’ll demonstrate to your team that you are invested in their success. Model great leadership for others. If your leadership skills aren’t inspiring others to take action, what are they accomplishing? People respect leaders who follow through on their words. Research indicates that being a role model is essential to being a transformational leader, and people tend to have more respect for those who put their words into action. Demonstrating the behaviors you desire from your team is one of the best ways to display effective leadership. Make sure to be consistent in this message; your team will be more likely to emulate you if they can see that you uphold the same values that you expect of them. This will encourage them to believe, “If they can do this, so can I.” Don’t ignore your strengths. Although developing leadership skills commonly focuses on one’s weaknesses, it’s also important to remember to develop your strengths. A strong knowledge of your capabilities and gifts will allow you to put them to work immediately. If you have a strong sense of your abilities, you’ll be able to apply them in new ways. For instance, if you’re a talented speaker, you might want to improve your skills by joining a public speaking group or giving presentations on challenging topics. Remember, there is no limit to the potential areas of improvement for leaders, including strengths. Set goals and execute them. Even the most successful leaders don’t achieve success without a plan. Along with your grand vision, it is equally essential to map out a path to reach that goal. Therefore, when working to strengthen your leadership abilities, you must dedicate time to clearly define your goals and make them concrete. By creating the right plan and setting achievable objectives, you’ll have a roadmap for success that can guide your business throughout the foreseeable future. When you reach a particular goal, turn your attention toward it. This will give your employees a sense of pride and meaning. As you progress toward your objectives, the examples of your leadership skills will speak volumes about how you’re able to implement your vision successfully. Admit failures and move on. An effective leader can’t avoid mistakes all the time; even the most successful, inspirational leaders make mistakes. It is important to own up to these errors and take action to rectify them. Acknowledging and discussing your mistakes with yourself and your team can be a powerful learning opportunity. Reflect on and consider ways to prevent them from happening in the future. The ability to learn from your failures can send a powerful message to your employees. They will know that even if you make a mistake, you will get back on track. Recognizing and managing failures will help you improve your leadership skills. Inspire others. To inspire others, you need to focus on the positive. Refrain from complaining about each small thing and try to look for potential success in every plan. Inspiration is rooted in faith, and if you’re constantly telling an employee that their idea won’t work or that it’s not worth the effort, it sends a message that you don’t have faith in them or the business. This lack of belief can lead to a decrease in performance and overall morale among the team. Instead, focus on what you believe in and inspire others to maximize their potential. Encouraging them to grow their leadership skills and remain positive during difficult times is key to achieving lasting success. Find your higher purpose. When it comes to developing leadership skills, you’ll want to identify the reasons behind your efforts and goals. Your immediate response might be either “a larger paycheck” or “the prestige that comes with being at the top.” But take a step back and think about why you desire those things. Is it so your family feels safer and more secure? Maybe you desire to lead so you can help others by creating products and services they need, or you want to bring about a positive transformation in your industry. These are all noble goals, and by recognizing your own, you can be an effective leader with knowledge, confidence, and the power to impact people. As you develop your leadership skills, you’ll be able to improve the effort you put into achieving your goals. Those around you will also see the passion and hard work you bring to the table, which will encourage them to improve their leadership skills as well. Okonjo-Iweala responded by calling for more business opportunities and investment in the continent. She noted that doing so would lead to the creation of new jobs and the empowerment of women. Peter Singer: The Why And How Of Altruism Despite his controversial reputation, Peter Singer is still acknowledged as one of the most influential individuals in the world of philanthropy. In his talk, Peter discussed how people could make a difference in society through collaboration. He talked about the various thought experiments he conducted designed to help people balance their practicality and emotion. Dan Pallotta: The Way We Think About Charity Is Dead Wrong Pallotta is best known for his work in the charitable event industry. He is the president of Advertising For Humanity, which helps philanthropists and foundations transform their grant growth potential. He discussed the various factors that contribute to the broken relationships that many organizations have with their donors. He noted that the double standard that some organizations have when it comes to rewarding them is often why they don’t spend the money they are allocated Shaun Stenning said, Contrary to popular belief, most startup founders are not natural-born leaders. Instead, many take on leadership roles without developing or improving their skills. This prevents them from effectively influencing others, preventing them from starting their businesses. There are several ways that entrepreneurs can improve their leadership abilities.
HAVE A STRATEGIC GAMEPLANDespite their passion for innovation, entrepreneurs need a strategic vision to guide their company and organization. This can be done through the development of a comprehensive strategic plan. A strategic vision is a framework that describes the organization’s goals and how it will be able to achieve them in the future. It’s also about developing a unique mission and a deeper understanding of the company. Having a vision helps you connect with your customers, investors, and employees so that they’ll support your efforts. NEVER STOP LEARNINGThere’s a difference between leaders and entrepreneurs in learning new skills and knowledge. While both have a passion for learning, entrepreneurs tend to let their egos get in the way of their education. On the other hand, leaders are more likely to absorb new information and improve their skills to become more effective and successful. For instance, if leaders feel they need to improve their public speaking skills, they might try taking a course. BE AN ENCOURAGERLeaders are expected to speak with others with respect. They also help their teams align their personal goals with the organizations. This is done by developing a trusting relationship with their team members. Entrepreneurs tend to have difficulty letting go of control. However, giving workers more autonomy can help them improve their productivity and motivation. AVOID MICROMANAGINGMake sure that you’re keeping track of the various departments of your company to ensure that they’re performing at their best. It’s common for entrepreneurs to get involved in minor details of their company due to their passion for the business. However, it’s essential to remember that the employees, not the leaders, should make these decisions. SOLICIT FEEDBACKEntrepreneurs must also go to the point of contact with potential customers to find out if they would like to purchase their product or service. Entrepreneurs who are unwilling to listen to their team members’ feedback might be unable to market their product or service effectively. Unlike entrepreneurs, leaders are expected to ask their team members for feedback regularly. Although it’s not always easy to admit mistakes, leaders know that this form of criticism can help them improve their leadership skills. Shaun Stenning said, “This is the last month of 2022 so I thought this was the perfect moment to look back on the most important life lesson I learned these past few months with a fresh mind and rationally evaluate it.”
I know everyone is all about looking ahead right now but I think it’s so important to take note of what you’ve learned this year in order to move forward properly. 2020 had a lot of ups and downs for me and in many ways, I think it was the prep year for what’s to come. According to Shaun Stenning, “I’m sure we all learned some serious lessons for this year, from how to take care of ourselves to how to deal with stress and lastly the importance of our health. The important thing is that you take those lessons into consideration and keep learning from them in 2021 and beyond!” “2022 has been one long lesson for me. This much change taught me these life lessons that I will use every day for the rest of my life.” Shaun said. Here are the things I learned this year about myself, life, and business. Put God first. I live my life is to always put God first and show through my actions that He is the most important thing to me. But does it always go down like that? Every time that I put my relationship with God first. Don’t measure your self-worth by your job performance or title. Once was not enough for me to learn this important lesson. I had to make the same mistake twice to appreciate why you should never measure your self-worth by the status of your occupation. Stress kills. I made the necessary changes in my life at work and at home to reduce that stress did my ruminations become manageable. Focus on what you can control, not what you can’t Whatever you’re focusing on is where your energy will go and what will inevitably and eventually effect the material outcomes of your life and relationships Be Nice to Yourself. And then be even nicer to yourself How much more reason then do we have to get really really good at being kind and uplifting to ourselves – am I right? It affects everything. In recent weeks, the stock market has fluctuated in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Last week was the worst for the market since the 2008 financial crisis, and this week has been a wild ride as well. And yet, experts say, you could lose out in the long run if you make rash decisions now. Shaun Stenning said, “ The last few weeks, I've been covering my eyes before I look at my investments, and only peeking through my fingers — as if I'm facing Freddy Kruger rather than a series of numbers. It doesn't help that the financial headlines are full of frightening potential futures: a possible recession, trade wars, and potential market corrections.”
“It's enough to make me want to take all of my money out of my investments and put it somewhere safe, like my mattress.” “But no matter how overwhelming a market fluctuation may be, I also know that pulling my money out of the market is the worst thing I could do when my portfolio is trending downward. That's because the only way to guarantee that momentary losses become permanent is to sell.” These are some of the words that Shaun Stenning always says Here are some ways you can stay calm when the market is scary. Remember that it's okay to hide Hiding your head in the sand gets a lot of flak, but there are times when it really is the best course of action. That's because of a cognitive bias that prompts us to take action in response to fear. Take comfort in history Although the phrase "past performance is no guarantee of future results" is all but tattooed on the foreheads of every stock market analyst and financial planner, there is good reason to look at the past performance of the market as a whole. Make a volatility plan One of the reasons why we tend to overreact to volatility is because we forget that it's a natural part of financial markets. Market downturns are normal, and we should expect to live through several of them in a long investing career. Think through how to respond to frightening market changes before they happen. Then you know that you already have a plan to fall back on, and you're less likely to simply react out of fear. “The ride has been incredible. I’ve visited more cities, countries, and locations than I ever thought I would. I vividly remember my trips to Arizona, California, London, and Amsterdam, I truly love these places. But the one place that really sticks in my heart is Thailand.” said Shaun Stenning.
Shaun Stenning is a technologist, investor and has specialized in Tourism and Hospitality for the past 13 years helping many businesses reach their potential being based in Phuket Thailand he is based in a tourism hub. Being based in a Tourism Hub and surrounded by Tourism Businesses has honed his skills on being able to find great assets and undervalued assets. “What I love about Phuket and Thailand is there is still a great opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors. The market has room for really great products and services,” said Shaun Stenning. As Shaun reflects back on his years in Thailand his eyes fill with tears and sadness at what the Covid 19 Pandemic has done to local businesses and the local communities. Desperation is in the air in Phuket with little hope of reopening to international tourism in the short term. “It’s been a tough year. No one could have predicted this. We can only adapt and help our brothers and sisters here in Phuket by lifting them up and supporting the communities in any way we can.” Said Shaun Stenning So you don't have your dream job, and you're pretty sure you never will in your current corporation, but you're also not sure where else to go? You'd love to work at home but you're not sure where to start or if it's something you'd enjoy more than your current job? Love your boss and your coworkers, but not sure you want to stay?
Here are the signs that your current job might be worth staying at, at least until you have your dream job in the bag. 1. Your Boss Wants to Use You to Your Fullest Potential According to Shaun Stenning, If it matters to your boss when you are under-utilized, that indicates that he values you as a person and not just as an employee. Which, in turn, means that he cares about your overall well-being at work, and not just your performance. 2. Your Boss Listens to Your Suggestions A boss who truly listens is a boss you can communicate honestly with. If you're looking at starting to work at home, this sort of boss would be more likely to let you try it. Also, having a real "say" in what happens at work will give you a lift — it might not be what you truly care about, but at least you are a person whose opinion matters. 3. You Have Real Responsibility for Things That Matter in Your Workplace Giving you autonomous responsibility says that your boss trusts you and that you are trustworthy. Clearly, you are a valued employee. 4. You Have a Good (Working) Relationship With Your Coworkers Bad coworkers make for a miserable work environment, and good coworkers are hard to find. If you're at a job where you like working with the people around you, you're in quite a good place. From that good place, you can take your time making decisions about the future. 5. You Can Bring Questions and Concerns to Your Coworkers and Boss This is similar to the others. You're respected, valued, and trustworth. Yada yada. 6. Your Boss Recognizes Strengths in You That Don't Strictly Pertain to Your Job I work in a mostly administrative capacity right now, but my boss calls me in to many of the interviews he does when he hires for the department. Why? Because he knows that I'm intuitive and insightful when it comes to people. 7. Your Boss and Company Don't Micromanage Your Time Again with the trustworthiness. This also indicates that your boss respects you and the decisions you make. Everyone wants to live a healthy and happy life, but what are the differences between happy and unhappy people? What is the secret to a happy life? Is it love? Is it money? Is it a fulfilling career?
“Simply put, your thoughts have a more powerful effect on your happiness than you might think.” Shaun Stenning said. How do we find more joy in our life? Like anything else, it takes practice to cultivate ongoing happiness. In a sense, we have to reset our baseline. It won't happen overnight, But for Shaun, Happiness is a choice. When you choose to be happy, everything will fall into the right place. But for Shaun Stenning, the only secret to have a happy life is to be content with what you have. Appreciate all the little things in life and surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you and you will live a happy and good life. Here are some additional things from Shaun Stenning that you can do every day to discover the secrets of being happier:
Shaun Stenning saind, "Raise your hand if you love the idea of earning extra income or ditching office life to learn how to make money at home."
Well, you're not alone. You can find work-from-home positions in a variety of career fields spanning a wide level of expertise and experience. And whether you're looking to join a startup or work remotely for a top-earning company like Amazon and Dell, there's a remote job out there for you. Making some extra side hustle cash doesn't actually have to be that complicated. As someone who's been immersed in the field of online income generation for nearly two decades now, I can tell you that it takes some work. However, there are several clear paths forward. At the end of the day, it all boils down to what your goals are and just how much you're looking to automate your income. Here are some of the best ways from Shaun Stenning to earn money from home, according to experts. 1. Become a virtual assistant. According to Shaun Stenning, One simple way to make money from home is to help others complete tasks as a virtual assistant. If you're highly organized and can properly manage your time, then becoming a virtual assistant presents a low-friction entry point into the digital services industry. You can easily perform these functions as a remote worker no matter where you live. Finding work as a virtual assistant can be easily done through sites like Upwork, Indeed.com, and Remote.co Search the existing posted jobs and create bids. You'll need effective communication skills and fluency in English and popular web and business software applications. 2. Sell stuff on eBay or Craigslist. "A large subset of our society is earning a full-time income by selling items on Craigslist and eBay. You can do this by selling your own items, or you can help sell items for other people and take a small commission. Selling on eBay offers more friction than Craigslist and you'll need to establish solid reviews before you can begin to move high-ticket items." Shaun Stenning said. However, eBay does provide resources for sellers to help you get acclimated to selling on the platform. Take the time to do your due diligence and research the platform. If you have some solid online marketing skills, you'll find this much easier than if you're a complete newbie to the world of digital marketing. 4. Online tutoring Websites like Skooli, Tutor Me, and Tutor.com provide resources for entering into the online tutoring space. While you don't need to use a platform like these, they provide a lower friction entry point into the market. You could also search for online tutoring gigs on a variety of other sites like Upwork, Freelancer, and many more. What types of things can you tutor online? You could easily tutor a subject like math or science, while also teaching a language if you're bilingual. You could also tutor musical instruments like the guitar or piano, along with a slew of other subject matters. 5. Sell services on Fiverr Fiverr has grown significantly since its inception. Today, it's a vast marketplace where you can sell just about any service under the sun. This is great if you're looking to make money online as a digital nomad or even while sitting at home on your laptop while in your pajamas. What, specifically, can you sell on Fiverr? Anything from graphics and design services, to digital marketing, writing and translation services, video and animation services, music and audio, programming and application development, business services, and lifestyle services that include anything from celebrity impressions to gaming. Shaun Stenning said, “Entrepreneurs are ambitious problem solvers. In fact, they're becoming so effective at what they do, incumbent firms have no choice but to stand up and pay attention -- lest an energetic, insurgent start-up takes too big a piece of the pie.”
Making your startup successful has far more to do with what you'll figure out than what you already know. There's a brutal truth in life that some people refuse to accept--you have no control over many of the things that happen in life “A critical shift in mindset is at the heart of this success. Today's entrepreneurs are de-emphasizing experience and expertise in favor of pursuing the raw opportunity.” Shaun Stenning said. The most successful entrepreneurs set their direction based on prevailing opportunity rather than previous experience. The stuff of legend. Jeff Bezos took Amazon.com from his garage to a multi-billion dollar company. He believed "if you decide that you’re going to do only the things you know are going to work, you’re going to leave a lot of opportunity on the table." Bezos understood that past experience could be a limiting factor when it came to exploring the most relevant and valuable options for creating value. High stakes and even higher returns. Another great example of opportunity over experience comes from the privatization of the Turkish spirit, Raki. As the national drink, Raki was manufactured and sold by a state-run monopoly. Shaped by need. Entrepreneurial activity grows from an increasing desire to escape more traditional working environments. It also springs from necessity. Current economic conditions have left many without historically typical employment options. Shaun Stenning said, "Building a business from the ground up is one of the most challenging, demanding, and rewarding things you can venture into."
Shaun Stenning experienced this first hand after starting his business. However, managing your finances is vital to the success of your business. If there isn’t enough cash flow and capital to run operations, make payments, and sustain the company, you may end up closing it sooner than expected. “When it comes to finances, you have to be smart about your spending to avoid splurging money on unnecessary aspects of the business. For example, during your first year, it won’t make sense to hire numerous employees when you can’t afford to pay them all.” Shaun Stenning said. Read our following financial tips for entrepreneurs launching a startup. Your Time Is Worth More Than You Think Bill Gates, one of the world’s richest people, famously plans each day virtually down to the minute. Why? Because even he, with almost infinite monetary resources, cannot buy time. As a Startup, Keep Your Fixed Expenses Spartan Another common trap for startups is spending too much time and money on impressing customers (and even friends) with big offices, new cars, and the best equipment. Manage Your Cash Flow As Your Survival Depends on It According to Shaun Stenning, The reason we word it this way is that ultimately your cash flow is the be-all and end-all of your business’s survival. It’s very easy (and common) for fledgling startups to be so enamored with their product or service that they either underestimate the importance of their cash flow or worse, ignore it altogether. Be Specific in Your Financial Goals If you’re like a lot of entrepreneurs, you’ll be almost obsessed with your idea, and realizing its value with your audience. So when it comes to setting financial goals for your startup, they might somewhat fall by the wayside. If you’re looking to create your own startup, we applaud you — it will be a tough road, there is no denying that. However, with the right knowledge and discipline, you have every chance of immense success. For that reason, we very much hope the free information we’ve given you here will help find the right track for success and stay on it. Shaun Stenning said, Many of life’s lessons must be learned by actually experiencing the messy stuff of life, but some of the most important lessons are best learned from our parents. Parents are often a person’s greatest teachers.
Our upbringing is an important part of the people we become and the way we view the world. We learn many things from our parents; some of these things we grasp at the time of the teachable moment and others don’t reveal themselves until we’re further down the road of life. Shaun Stenning always says, “It’s no secret that my parents had a HUGE impact on the person I am today. In fact, I’d say they were the biggest reason I’m so passionate about personal finance and development.” These lessons are some of the most essential ones that my parents taught me:
“My parents were a living example of this, and I hope that we are all teaching this lesson to future generations as well.”— Shaun Stenning Every day we make a choice to either be a leader or a follower. Even if your role is as an individual contributor with no direct responsibility for others, your attitude can determine whether you are a leader or a follower.
Every business needs leaders and followers. Contrary to common belief, it’s not leaders that shape followers, but supportive followers that shape leaders. So you may be wondering are some people, naturally great leaders and followers? According to Shaun Stenning, “The obvious answer is yes, but that doesn’t mean we’re all good as leaders or followers even when it’s our preference. By being a ‘natural’ just means it comes more naturally to us, not that we have perfected the skill.” Here’s a list of what successful leaders do: Lead by exampleA leader must always lead by example, and this is called ‘walking the talk’ Communicate ClearlyShaun Stenning saind, "There can never be confusion in a leader’s message as that will divide loyalty among followers." PracticeHoning the message until it is comprehensible and coherent without contradiction is the goal of all successful leaders. Maintain A Healthy EgoA healthy ego gives leaders the confidence to get on with it, and they will push themselves further than anyone else would or could. Healthy Respect for FollowersIt is the team that understands the strategy, takes instructions from the leader, and works well together that wins. According to Shaun Stenning, "In business, leaders will always get more praise. However, the appreciation of followers is heightening. No longer are they perceived negatively as ‘yes-people’, or ‘sheep’. Hiring people who don’t aspire to be leaders yet can take direction, work independently, and show initiative is, in fact, critical and likely improve the company’s overall performance. As I age, it amazes me to see how much I’ve changed from year to year. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle to get somewhere, do something, and be someone, it’s humbling to realize how much I have learned up to this point, and how little I actually know.
According to Shaun Stenning, “Each year is a chance to grow and become better people, especially if we learn to look at life as a teacher. There are lessons to be picked up from every circumstance thrown our way, whether they be good or bad. Especially the bad.” Shaun Stenning said, “I am reminded constantly of how imperfect I am and how much work I need to do on myself to be the kind of person I want to be. Each day, I struggle with uncertainties, insecurity, fear, and doubt, just like everyone else.” There are so many great lessons we all learn from life. I personally made a list with some of the most important ones so far, lessons that had a great impact on my life. You can’t trust anyone but yourself: This year, I’ve seen the worst in people. I’ve watched people go from being someone I adored and looked up to, to people I will never speak to or acknowledge again. Health is priority #1: No matter how much success, money, or fame you have, it's all useless without your health. Invest in your health. Treat your body like a temple. It's your #1 priority. Everyone has their own timeline: One of my other friends has been working a full-time job for 12 years and is still searching for his calling. And you know what? That's awesome. Because everyone has their own timeline and journey. Don't worry about what other people are doing - just focus on what's right for you. Giving back is one of the most rewarding experiences: Our time here on earth is limited. I've found that I've been lucky enough to learn a lot of great life lessons and skills and every time I've paid it forward I've found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences. So here's my final piece of advice from Shaun Stenning: Remember that it's never too late to make a difference. So go out there and make it happen!
There's a brutal truth in life that some people refuse to accept--you have no control over many of the things that happen in life. There's a brutal truth in life that some people refuse to accept--you have no control over many of the things that happen in life. “A critical shift in mindset is at the heart of this success. Shaun Stenning is a founding member of Living Waters Phuket. After spending 2 years purchasing, packing and delivering Life Bags Shaun Stenning and his family set up Living Waters Phuket to further there efforts in supporting the Phuket and wider Thailand Community.
But now, last April 29, 2022 they delivered there last life bag. Over 2 years and around 1,000,000 Life Bags later, this amazing project comes to an end. According to Shaun Stenning, "I feel mixed emotions. I am pleased that Life Bags are no longer needed, but a little lost as to what my path forward looks like. Each week I have anchored my life, my work and my family around packing and delivering life bags. But Phuket has reopened. The rules have eased. It’s time to adjust our strategy from “Giving A Fish” to “Teaching How To Fish.” It’s time to hand the reigns fully over to Living Waters Phuket, and the wonderful team working to help Phuket re-build." Additional to that Shaun Stenning also mention his gratefulness to all the people behind this program. But the heroic act of Shaun Stenning did not end because The Red Cross ‘Back to School’ initiative was a partnership between Shaun Stenning, Living Waters Phuket and the Red Cross. The Foundation provided equipment necessary to allow for 390 students across 13 schools in Phuket, to get back to school. Shaun Stenning was pleased to announce that as a direct result of this funding, there are now 390 students back in school from January 2022 Shaun Stenning said, "Every little thing YOU do really makes a difference!"
Read the news on any given day, and you’d think we were all soon-to-be goners from climate change. New stories and reports regularly reveal all the ways humans are trashing the planet at an unprecedented rate. Shaun Stenning said, “Becoming an environmental warrior doesn’t require a superhero-like effort. Something as simple as creating a grocery shopping list or using ceramic baking pans can make a big difference.” “In fact, a healthy lifestyle and an eco-conscious one often go hand in hand. Extra bonus: Being eco-friendly is often easier on the wallet.” Shaun Stenning says. According to Shaun Stenning “The most obvious ways to help the environment are to conserve energy and use less water. But if you put on your green thinking cap, you can come up with lots of less obvious, but no less important, earth-friendly habits.” There are several ways that you – yes, YOU- can help protect this planet we call Earth.
According to Shaun Stenning, A Serial Investor and Entrepreneur. One of the goals many of us have is to grow our wealth over time. In many cases, it’s more about the financial security and the ability to live a comfortable lifestyle, than it is about racking a huge net worth.
Regardless of your goal, adherence to these basic principles can take you a long way if you want to grow your wealth over time. Principles for Growing Wealth 1. Live Within Your Means This is the most basic of basic financial principles. It comes up over and over again. However, it bears repeating. You can’t grow your wealth if you’re constantly overspending. The ability to grow wealth depends on having assets rather than liabilities, and when you live beyond your means, all you end up with are liabilities. Shaun Stenning said. 2. Take Calculated Risks It’s much harder to build wealth when you don’t take some risks. I’m not talking about trying to pick a winning stock and using a great deal of margin to try and make it big in one fell swoop. That’s more of a fool’s risk than it is a calculated risk. 3. Spend Smart You don’t have to be a penny pincher in order to build wealth over time. It’s possible to spend a little extra sometimes and enjoy life. The trick is to spend smart. When you make purchases, make sure that you are getting true value. 4. Invest in Yourself You are your own best asset. As a result, you should be striving to improve yourself. One of the things that set the financially successful apart is that they look to be educated, rather than entertained all the time. 5. Give Back Many financial experts point out that giving is part of a well-rounded financial life. Many of those who are wealthy make it a point to give to charity and to give in other ways. For those who believe that blessings come from giving, this is just one way to be rewarded for generosity. Bottom Line "The foundation for growing wealth is a fairly simple one, but it’s not always easy to carry out your efforts. However, with a little planning, and by really thinking about your situation, it is possible to build wealth by sticking with a few simple ideas." Shaun Stenning Shaun Stenning said, "As a new business owner, there is plenty to learn when it comes to running your business not to mention managing your business finances. Most entrepreneurs who start a business of their own don’t come from a finance background and have to learn the basics, bookkeeping, funding, and what actually matters to lenders and investors as they journey through the unknown."
Wouldn't it be great if someone could give you a "to do" list when you were ready to start your company that would guarantee your success? Even better, what about a "to-don’t" list of things to avoid at all costs? According to Shaun Stenning, “There’s no one thing all entrepreneurs have in common; there’s diversity in the type of mindset it takes to be a leader. “ “However, there are certain qualities and traits that will certainly make the path to success easier for you, and everyone around you. Leading a company is for your customers and about your customers.” Shaun Stenning said. Even though we are all starting from different places, these lessons have certainly served me well over the years: Stop selling and start sharing. People are much more interested in what you have to say. When you're sharing your knowledge, your passion, and your experience to help them solve their problems. Focus on being interested in them, and don't worry so much about being interesting.” Shaun Stenning said. Do: Listen to what your prospects and customers say with their words and body language. Don't: Pull out a brochure or sales sheet unless they ask for it. Differentiate or die. According to Shaun Stenning, What makes you unique vs. the others in the market? Make sure there's something special about your product or service other than the price. Own something important in your customers' hearts and minds. Do: Talk to real customers and ask them for a report card Don't: Chase last week's/quarter's/year's trend Put passion above all else. Customers are savvy--they know when something is genuine or if you're just going through the motions Do: Work you love and believe is important. You may think that a business and a brand are two of the same but they’re not.
WHAT IS A BUSINESS? Your business is your foundation. Your business is the products and services that you offer. It’s your business model. According to Shaun Stenning, Without a business, there’s nothing to brand which is why before you can create a brand, you need to get clear on your business. WORK IN YOUR BUSINESS So how do you do that? It’s usually best to start with offering 1-1 service. By working directly with clients in a one-on-one capacity you can start to understand the exact pain points that they have and how you can help them. WHAT IS A BRAND? Your brand provides an emotional connection to its audience. A brand has a personality. Your brand is what makes your business unique. It’s what sets you apart from all those other businesses out there who do what you do. When you have a brand, you don’t have competition. Competition is only an issue when your business is the same as all the others out there. Having a unique brand eliminates the need to compete solely on price. If your audience feels a stronger connection with your brand over that of your ‘competition’ then they will buy from you, no doubt about it. CREATE A PERSONAL CONNECTION A vast majority of people will buy based on emotion. They decide to buy because it feels like the right fit so the better you are at making an emotional connection with your audience, the easier you’ll find it to close sales. People don’t just choose businesses to work with or to buy from anymore. They buy from brands that they have a personal connection with. According to Shaun Stenning, “Investing in branding alone won’t grow your business. Having a clear business strategy, marketing strategy, and visibility plan along with a clearly defined brand identity, will.” “After you have spent some time working in your business, you’ll be clearer on who you want to serve and how you want to serve them. That’s when you start to create a brand.” Shaun Stenning said. TO SUMMARISE Your business is your foundation. Your business is the products and services that you offer. It’s your business model. Your brand provides an emotional connection to its audience. A brand has a personality. Shaun Stenning said, "When you think about professional success, you think about the strategies and behaviors that people exemplify when at work. You think about what people do during the 9-5 working hours, and whether they extend those hours by coming in early or staying late to tackle projects."
Free time in this day and age is often hard to come by. With everything from work to appointments constantly demanding your time, it can often feel like it’s been months since you were able to stop and take a breather. “Then if you do get the chance to stop and take a deep breath, it’s not long before your phone starts ringing or emails start pouring in.” According to Shaun Stenning “With a world full of people that think having any amount of free time is a bad thing and that every moment needs to be filled with something, we find ourselves getting busier.” Shaun Stenning said. Successful people tend to spend their free time in these ways (and more, of course), so read below and find out why: 1. They Exercise. Physical exercise is important for both physical and mental health. Taking a half hour after work or on a weekend can get your blood pumping, get your endorphins flowing, and revitalize your spirit. 2. They Read. Reading is a lifelong skill, and successful people never stop reading new books. Whether it's fiction or nonfiction, books help give you a greater understanding of the world around you. 3. They Take Classes. Education shouldn't stop at college, and shouldn't be restricted to institutions. The most successful people in the world are the ones who make a commitment to never stop learning. 4. They Volunteer. Volunteering, no matter where or how you do it, is beneficial for you and your community. 5. They Network. Many networking events exist outside the realm of corporate hours. They include weekend breakfasts, cocktail hours, and after-hours gatherings for conversation and usually food and drinks. If you don't spend your free time like this, it doesn't mean you have no chance of being successful. However, picking up some of these strategies can improve your abilities, improve your mindset, and expand your network to levels that will increase your chances for success in the workplace. There are some simple methods that can help you deal with stress and even de-stress completely while you are working.
It's Monday first thing. You did not rest well during the weekend because you were worried precisely about the tasks that little by little were accumulating on your desk and should be ready by the end of the afternoon and, on top of that, you have a two-hour meeting at 10 am. Does it sound familiar? Stress can appear when a person is involved in such a situation in their workplace. According to Shaun Stenning, “Whatever your work demands, there are steps you can take to protect yourself from the damaging effects of stress, improve your job satisfaction, and bolster your well-being on and off the job.” “Stress isn’t always bad. A little bit of stress can help you stay focused, energetic, and able to meet new challenges in the workplace.” Shaun Stenning said. Here are tried and true methods for learning how to relieve stress at work – so you can get back to kicking butt. Tip 1: Beat workplace stress by reaching out Sometimes the best stress-reducer is simply sharing your stress with someone close to you. The act of talking it out and getting support and sympathy—especially face-to-face—can be a highly effective way of blowing off steam and regaining your sense of calm. The other person doesn’t have to “fix” your problems; they just need to be a good listener. Tip 2: Support your health with exercise and nutrition When you’re overly focused on work, it’s easy to neglect your physical health. But when you’re supporting your health with good nutrition and exercise, you’re stronger and more resilient to stress. Tip 3: Don’t skimp on sleep You may feel like you just don’t have the time to get a full night’s sleep. But skimping on sleep interferes with your daytime productivity, creativity, problem-solving skills, and ability to focus. The better rested you are, the better equipped you’ll be to tackle your job responsibilities and cope with workplace stress. Shaun Stenning said, A good morning routine can really set the productivity tone for the rest of the day. Some days you’re dialed into every detail: cooking a big breakfast, experimenting with new hairstyles, trying to meditate.
“While a great morning moment can feel pretty magical, there’s more to the perfectly productive day than mystical forces at work. A morning routine that leads to productivity is in fact a science that you can implement in your own life.” Shaun Stenning said. According to Shaun Stenning “If I'm a mess in the morning, I feel like I spend the rest of the day trying to catch up. If I am able to be intentional about my mornings, though, the rest of my day tends to go more smoothly as well.” Everyone will have a different morning routine that works for them, their circumstances, and their stage of life. But is there a right way to have a productive morning? Does it really lie in a morning ritual and healthy breakfast? Let's dive into the details of these great routine habits, and how successful people get a routine to stick day in, day out. 1. Wake Up At YOUR Right Time We've all heard that morning people are the high achievers: “You've got to be part of the 5 am alarm club! 2. Eliminate Decision-Making Tasks In The Morning According to Shaun Stenning, Sometimes the best way to have a productive morning is to get a head start on it the night before. Make it a habit! 3. Create A Morning Routine To Focus Your Mind The best thing you can do to be productive is to create your ideal morning routine. 4. Move Around And Hydrate When you feel great, it will make it all that much easier to handle that alarm. You might not be excited about the idea of a morning workout. 5. Eat The Frog Or Tadpoles After you get your personal morning routine organized, it's time to take action for a productive day. Remember that if you can work through the somewhat painful moments of waking up earlier than you’d like, once you get moving and get started on your positive morning routine, you’ll feel great. And, the purpose of the morning routine is that it will help you feel better throughout the rest of the day too! |
