The real road of compassion, that is, giving, helping, assistance and community service, is a road that can be set and declared as your life's purpose

Despite our best intentions, it can be easy to fall behind on our financial goals. After all, family, professional and personal responsibilities (along with some of the difficulties created by the pandemic) can make it challenging to stay on top of our money all of the time. If you’re looking for some easy ways to simplify your finances, consider these straightforward ways to master money management 1. Create a financial calendar According to Shaun Stenning, “Many of us start the year with great intentions, but we fall off track along the way. I always recommend creating a budget as an essential piece of money advice, and I’m going to make a slightly different suggestion for those of you who already have a budget — make a financial calendar.” Store your calendar on your phone or tablet, so you can set reminders and create a list of major financial tasks you intend on completing, along with their due date. 2. Ditch the Paper Paper bills, credit card statements, and other financial documents can become easily disorganized. Take a moment to request all of your financial documents be switched to e-delivery, and if you have old files of paper documents you still need, start scanning them into an e-format. 3. Clean Out Your Wallet If you’re savings-conscious like me, your wallet is probably overflowing with retailer loyalty cards and coupons. These are powerful tools for reducing costs with perks like free shipping, early access to sales, and other special promotions and discounts. 4. Streamline Credit Cards While you’re cleaning out your wallet, consider the myriad rewards credit cards you may have. 5. Layer Your Rewards Programs As mentioned above, be sure you’re paying for your purchases with a versatile credit card that rewards you with cashback. Simplifying your financial routine is an exercise that yields real rewards. It makes your money work for you — rather than you for your money — by creating efficient ways to support your goals. In an old interview of Shaun Stenning, he asked what he felt was the most significant during the Covid 19 Pandemic and his answer was surprising to the interviewer. Shaun answered “Family is the most important thing during Covid 19. With so much disruption to our lives, we need to bind together as a family and support each other.”
The concept of family has developed over time. The classic family unit was a wife and husband, kids, grandparents, and cousins. But for people who choose to live as ex-pats in alternate countries this traditional family unit may not be available. Shaun Stenning is one of those people, when he was asked how he described the family unit he replied with “Anyone who has influenced my life and come together with my during this difficult time and are in close proximity to me. With the closure of international borders flying to see the family is almost impossible. So we must make the people around us inclusive into our local ex-pat family unit.” This kind of advice is solid for people who are stuck overseas or who have chosen to live a life abroad during this Covid 19 Pandemic times. A good family support unit, with traditional or non-tradition can help you cope with the changing environment of the world and how we as people can survive it. Take the advice of Shaun Stenning, lean on your family during these difficult times and ensure you have deep and meaningful conversations about Covid 19 and how it is impacting you and your family. This is what your family are there for. |
