SHAUN STENNING BLOG
The real road of compassion, that is, giving, helping, assistance and community service, is a road that can be set and declared as your life's purpose
According to Shaun Stenning, During these difficult times of Covid it’s important to remember that is we are a business owner that as a business owner our business is separate from us personally. The business is one stand alone “asset” or “person” and we are another.
It’s important to remember this distinction as you don’t want to let your personal situation influence how you are making business decisions. “The reason I share this is lately I’ve seen a lot of business owners using there business assets to ask for donations and support to get through the Covid period, where in fact the donation and support they need is personal.” Shaun Stenning said. A lot of businesses are struggling during Covid, I totally understand that. But what you have to focus on is whether a post like this is actually helping your business or is it helping you? Are you posting it so you can pay salary to yourself or your partner or are posting it as the business really needs the funds to pay rent etc. In the opinion of Shaun Stenning this kind of post is not a great post anyway. Whatever happens it would have a negative impact on your business. People would wonder why your business should be donated to, why it should be supported when there are people going hungry? Please don’t let your personal desperation to either keep your business afloat or yourself afloat destroy your business during these difficult times. Understand that you are not alone, many business owners are struggling but are not sending out emails or messages to customers asking for help.

The average age of an entrepreneur is older than you think.
Starting new businesses isn’t just for college kids from Silicon Valley – anyone with a passion and some elbow grease can do it. There’s no timeline or expiration date on becoming a successful entrepreneur. In fact, people starting businesses later in life may actually have some advantages over people that are still early in their careers. According to Shaun Stenning, “Even if you've invested 10 or 20 years in your current profession, you can still successfully pivot to become an entrepreneur.” Now that starting a business and becoming a solopreneur is easier than ever, it’s time to shift the conversation about who can be an entrepreneur and what it really means. The Rise of the Entrepreneur in 2021 We’re at the crest of a massive wave of people taking the leap to become their own boss. Entrepreneurship Gets Better with Age Not only is it easier than ever to start your own business with nothing more than a computer and WiFi, but more and more people are looking for flexibility, freedom, and control over their time. We all want work that fuels our passion and gives life meaning. There is never a right time According to Shaun Stenning, Starting a business is like having a baby—there never really is a “right” time. It has nothing to do with how old you are, and most likely you will never feel completely ready. Mid-career entrepreneurs are more successful Starting a business mid-career could be an advantage for many reasons. This is because management experience is great training to become an entrepreneur. Once you’re in your 30s or beyond, you’ve acquired strong skills, contacts, and industry-specific knowledge that you can apply to a new business. “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” Dream big, plan well and great things will happen. Shaun Stenning said. Shaun Stenning and his team were thrilled to welcome Chris Parker, (from Retired Working For You), as he joined their usual weekly efforts to see exactly what goes on behind the scenes of each life bag.
Chris Parker got the inside glimpse on how things work right from the organised packing efforts by volunteers at Sutai Muay Thai, through to the distribution to some of the most suffering communities in and around Phuket. Chris joined Shaun Stenning and delivered life bags to different parts of Phuket. In his follow up, hard-hitting video, you get to see where these life bags go, and how vitally important they have become for the worst hit communities around us here. We have 1300 volunteers who helped us pack and deliver life bags. And each life bag can feed 4-5 families that is good for 4 days. Having more volunteers makes the work easier and it helps the local community. There are some communities that tourists never see. That’s the community where a lot of people lost their jobs. The need for food and help are pretty hard. K.Zeera and her family are the ones who organized the donation program. According to K.Zeera's father - every leader in each village contacted them and requested for some life bags for their brothers and sisters. As of today Shaun Stenning and his team hit 7200 life bags that will feed hundreds of people. These kinds of acts are what we really need right now. According to Shaun Stenning they will never stop giving life bags as long as they see people suffering. The support they will give to the local community will continue until Phuket re-opens for international tourists. Shaun Stenning's works are unbelievable. So much commitment and love for his community. |
